Beginning with a conversation to ensure your comfort and understand your goals for hearing well in your lifestyle. Then an inspection of the ear canal followed by an air test, how well you hear tones through the aid, bone test, how well your cochlea is perceiving tones, and a speech discrimination test, how well you understand the vowel and consonant combination. All results of the test are reviewed fully.
Analog, programmable and digital hearing aids are available from a variety of manufacturers and in all sizes, from behind the ear to completely in-the-canal. We believe in providing the latest technology with personalized care.

We will meet with any family member to review the loss as determined by a complete hearing test. We will discuss all opportunities for improvement with hearing aids, including expectations of improvement. In some cases we can let the family members hear the actual difference between normal hearing and the actual hearing loss as well as hearing with assistance from hearing aids.
As technology expands and the options for different hearing aids increase it can become overwhelming to know which aids would provide the best hearing assistance. We will review your lifestyle and all available technology to ensure the best match and best success when fitting new hearing aids. We have a standard follow-up program each week during the transition into new aids so we can respond to concerns and help clients through this time.
Workers in certain occupations are required to receive regular hearing tests due to the risk of hearing loss that can be caused by excessive noise in their workplace. These hearing screenings can be completed in less than 30 minutes, and comply with the standards set by OSHA.
Hearing Assistive Technology includes devices such as amplified telephones, cell phone accessories, television listening systems, alarm clocks, telephone and doorbell ring signalers, flashing smoke alarms, and personal listening systems to assist people to hear or be alerted to environmental signals, with or without hearing aids. We have a demonstration display of a number.
We keep a supply of batteries for you to purchase in our office. Stop in routinely for fresh batteries. Make sure to check the batteries in your hearing devices often and make sure there is no dirt, wax or debris interfering with the batteries performance. Batteries that are properly charged will make a noise (a squeal) when cupped in your hand or after it has been inserted in your ear, when you cup your hand over the hearing aid it will also make a noise.
